Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 1.06% or 0.24 points to trade at 22.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 0.85% or 0.35 points to end at 41.34 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was up 0.48% or 0.07 points to 14.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which fell 2.13% or 1.02 points to trade at 46.92 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 2.00% or 0.32 points to end at 15.68 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was down 1.71% or 0.40 points to 23.03.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 70 to 48 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Telenet Group (BR:TNET) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.13% or 1.02 to 46.92.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.19% or 2.40 to $1291.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.42% or 0.30 to hit $71.19 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.49% or 0.39 to trade at $78.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.1785, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.8738.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 93.48.
