Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 3.71% or 2.27 points to trade at 63.49 at the close. Meanwhile, Cofinimmo SA (BR:COFB) added 0.99% or 1.10 points to end at 112.00 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 0.86% or 0.340 points to 39.740 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which fell 1.99% or 1.90 points to trade at 93.70 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 1.47% or 0.38 points to end at 25.44 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was down 1.25% or 0.46 points to 36.36.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 58 to 57 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.26% or 3.30 to $1290.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.83% or 0.96 to hit $51.63 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.78% or 1.10 to trade at $60.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1484, while EUR/GBP fell 0.88% to 0.8938.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 95.143.
