Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.02% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 1.87% or 0.67 points to trade at 36.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) added 1.56% or 1.31 points to end at 85.06 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was up 1.34% or 0.17 points to 13.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ageas (BR:AGES), which fell 2.75% or 1.210 points to trade at 42.800 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 2.04% or 0.29 points to end at 13.91 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was down 0.72% or 0.14 points to 19.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 55 to 53 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in bpost NV (BR:BPOST) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.04% or 0.29 to 13.91. Shares in Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) fell to 3-years lows; losing 0.72% or 0.14 to 19.30.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.27% or 3.40 to $1256.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.52% or 2.48 to hit $73.01 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.29% or 1.74 to trade at $77.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.1585, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 94.81.
