Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which rose 1.63% or 1.51 points to trade at 94.25 at the close. Meanwhile, ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 1.46% or 0.150 points to end at 10.450 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 0.83% or 0.250 points to 30.475 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 2.76% or 1.380 points to trade at 48.670 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 1.97% or 1.37 points to end at 68.11 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was down 1.23% or 0.39 points to 31.32.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 71 to 67 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.19% or 2.55 to $1341.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.80% or 1.17 to hit $42.97 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.39% or 1.06 to trade at $45.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1075, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.8495.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 96.39.
