Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Software & Computers, Technology and Pharma & Bio-technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which rose 1.83% or 2.40 points to trade at 133.45 at the close. Meanwhile, NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) added 1.78% or 0.45 points to end at 25.50 and Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) was up 1.74% or 1.36 points to 79.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DIeteren SA (BR:IETB), which fell 4.92% or 1.645 points to trade at 31.785 at the close. Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) declined 0.93% or 0.07 points to end at 7.48 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was down 0.60% or 0.09 points to 14.94.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 106 to 45 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.63% or 7.40 to $1187.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.63% or 0.76 to hit $45.88 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.59% or 0.29 to trade at $49.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.1405, while EUR/GBP fell 0.70% to 0.7361.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 94.30.
