Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 2.82%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 4.68% or 1.08 points to trade at 24.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 4.24% or 19.00 points to end at 467.00 and UCB SA (EBR:UCB) was up 3.33% or 4.90 points to 152.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Proximus NV (EBR:PROX), which fell 0.40% or 0.03 points to trade at 6.25 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) added 1.20% or 0.66 points to end at 55.80 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 1.27% or 0.32 points to 25.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 84 to 12 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) fell to all time lows; falling 0.40% or 0.03 to 6.25.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.18% or 4.35 to $2,435.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.10% or 2.27 to hit $75.47 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.71% or 2.07 to trade at $78.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 103.00.
