Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Utilities and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 2.16%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which rose 9.06% or 33.70 points to trade at 405.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) added 4.44% or 0.63 points to end at 14.82 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) was up 4.26% or 1.35 points to 33.07 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elia (EBR:ELI), which fell 0.75% or 0.70 points to trade at 92.10 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 0.66% or 0.55 points to end at 82.90 and UCB SA (EBR:UCB) was down 0.18% or 0.25 points to 138.85.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 55 to 39 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.44% or 10.35 to $2,341.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.02% or 0.82 to hit $81.55 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.77 to trade at $85.10 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 105.18.
