Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 1.82%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which rose 5.12% or 2.68 points to trade at 55.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 3.54% or 0.42 points to end at 12.45 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 3.19% or 2.940 points to 95.180 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which fell 1.43% or 0.45 points to trade at 31.03 at the close. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) added 0.12% or 0.10 points to end at 86.80 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 0.45% or 0.200 points to 44.750.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 74 to 34 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) rose to all time highs; up 5.12% or 2.68 to 55.06. Shares in Argen-X (BR:ARGX) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.12% or 0.10 to 86.80.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.42% or 5.10 to $1228.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.88% or 0.55 to hit $61.66 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.22% or 0.16 to trade at $71.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1459, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8720.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 95.79.
