Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 1.39%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 6.22% or 4.10 points to trade at 70.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 3.19% or 0.36 points to end at 11.80 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 2.78% or 2.00 points to 73.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telenet Group Holding NV (BR:TNET), which fell 6.24% or 2.86 points to trade at 42.98 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 1.27% or 0.29 points to end at 22.52 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was down 0.30% or 0.04 points to 13.41.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 97 to 16 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.48% or 5.90 to $1216.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.32% or 0.21 to hit $66.39 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.49% or 0.37 to trade at $76.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1315, while EUR/GBP fell 0.64% to 0.8871.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 96.88.
