Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Utilities and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 1.25%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 4.87% or 2.820 points to trade at 60.690 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB (BR:UCB) added 2.44% or 1.61 points to end at 67.56 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 1.72% or 0.195 points to 11.525 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which fell 0.66% or 0.78 points to trade at 115.78 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 0.21% or 0.05 points to end at 24.20 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 0.48% or 0.23 points to 47.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 105 to 48 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.66% or 8.35 to $1264.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.26% or 0.13 to hit $50.07 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.04 to trade at $51.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.0994, while EUR/GBP fell 0.93% to 0.8941.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 97.78.
