Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.16%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 3.26% or 2.42 points to trade at 76.61 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) added 2.06% or 1.320 points to end at 65.400 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 1.94% or 0.77 points to 40.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which fell 0.94% or 0.13 points to trade at 13.67 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 0.44% or 0.420 points to end at 94.320 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) was down 0.31% or 0.20 points to 64.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 61 to 47 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.29% or 3.50 to $1203.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.36% or 0.27 to hit $75.50 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.64% or 0.54 to trade at $85.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1523, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8872.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 95.35.
