Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.92% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 2.96% or 1.12 points to trade at 38.97 at the close. Meanwhile, ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 2.37% or 0.298 points to end at 12.882 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 1.88% or 1.220 points to 66.220 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which fell 2.02% or 0.41 points to trade at 19.90 at the close. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) declined 0.72% or 0.60 points to end at 82.50 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was down 0.70% or 0.10 points to 13.46.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 59 to 46 and 26 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.05% or 0.60 to $1225.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.46% or 0.99 to hit $68.88 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.07% or 0.78 to trade at $73.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1686, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.8893.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 94.38.
