Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.88% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which rose 3.08% or 2.20 points to trade at 73.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 2.53% or 11.70 points to end at 474.10 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) was up 2.02% or 1.60 points to 80.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB), which fell 2.39% or 1.50 points to trade at 61.15 at the close. Aedifica (EBR:AOO) declined 2.34% or 1.45 points to end at 60.60 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) was down 2.05% or 0.50 points to 23.86.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 47 to 43 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.69% or 17.45 to $2,555.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.87% or 1.39 to hit $75.91 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.37% or 1.06 to trade at $78.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 101.28.
