Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.87% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 2.88% or 0.39 points to trade at 13.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Elia (EBR:ELI) added 2.79% or 2.55 points to end at 93.95 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) was up 2.62% or 0.68 points to 26.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which fell 0.28% or 0.40 points to trade at 144.60 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 0.12% or 0.50 points to end at 429.90 and Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR:GBLB) was up 0.29% or 0.20 points to 68.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 63 to 24 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.88% or 44.75 to $2,424.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.60% or 0.49 to hit $82.59 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.36 to trade at $85.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 104.11.
