Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Beverage, Consumer Goods and Construction & Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 3.03% or 1.660 points to trade at 56.380 at the close. Meanwhile, Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) added 1.56% or 1.75 points to end at 114.00 and Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) was up 1.47% or 1.29 points to 88.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 4.53% or 0.30 points to trade at 6.28 at the close. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 0.41% or 0.10 points to end at 25.34 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was down 0.30% or 0.30 points to 100.55.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 76 to 76 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) fell to all time lows; falling 4.53% or 0.30 to 6.28.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.40% or 4.30 to $1085.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.25% or 0.10 to hit $40.84 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.52% or 0.68 to trade at $43.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.67% to 1.0702, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.7038.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 99.38.
