Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.80%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 2.42% or 2.01 points to trade at 85.21 at the close. Meanwhile, Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 2.04% or 0.52 points to end at 26.06 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 2.03% or 0.56 points to 28.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which fell 0.69% or 0.18 points to trade at 25.96 at the close. Umicore SA (BR:UMI) declined 0.21% or 0.10 points to end at 47.08 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was down 0.18% or 0.20 points to 112.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 71 to 45 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in bpost NV (BR:BPOST) rose to all time highs; rising 2.03% or 0.56 to 28.12.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1355.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.70% or 0.43 to hit $61.77 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.09% or 0.70 to trade at $65.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.2439, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8854.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 88.86.
