Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 2.81% or 1.970 points to trade at 72.000 at the close. Meanwhile, ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 2.05% or 0.315 points to end at 15.650 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.99% or 1.430 points to 73.440 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which fell 0.85% or 0.24 points to trade at 28.70 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 0.67% or 0.10 points to end at 14.81 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was down 0.35% or 0.20 points to 57.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 74 to 43 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.30% or 3.70 to $1249.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.22% or 0.69 to hit $57.38 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.72% or 1.07 to trade at $63.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1761, while EUR/GBP rose 0.56% to 0.8786.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 93.92.
