Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 3.09% or 1.13 points to trade at 37.66 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 2.64% or 0.34 points to end at 13.20 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 2.54% or 0.52 points to 20.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which fell 0.55% or 0.40 points to trade at 72.50 at the close. Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) declined 0.47% or 0.42 points to end at 89.64 and UCB (BR:UCB) was down 0.42% or 0.28 points to 66.84.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 69 to 39 and 22 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.42% or 5.30 to $1258.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.31% or 0.97 to hit $73.17 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.18 to trade at $78.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1696, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.8846.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 94.09.
