Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 2.48% or 0.62 points to trade at 25.66 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 2.47% or 3.85 points to end at 159.75 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.52% or 0.34 points to 22.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elia (EBR:ELI), which fell 0.63% or 0.60 points to trade at 94.95 at the close. Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) declined 0.08% or 0.05 points to end at 61.65 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 61.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 61 to 29 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in UCB SA (EBR:UCB) rose to all time highs; up 2.47% or 3.85 to 159.75.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.19% or 4.75 to $2,545.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.07% or 0.78 to hit $72.39 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.62 to trade at $76.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 101.06.
