Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 2.45% or 2.140 points to trade at 89.340 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB (BR:UCB) added 1.58% or 1.18 points to end at 75.94 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) was up 1.06% or 0.70 points to 66.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which fell 1.52% or 1.12 points to trade at 72.79 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 0.89% or 0.20 points to end at 22.38 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was down 0.68% or 0.08 points to 11.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 58 to 46 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.52% or 1.12 to 72.79.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.18% or 2.20 to $1228.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.59% or 1.86 to hit $70.06 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.74% or 1.42 to trade at $79.99 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1534, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 95.09.
