Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 3.24% or 1.97 points to trade at 62.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 2.41% or 0.65 points to end at 27.42 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was up 2.08% or 0.78 points to 38.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which fell 0.48% or 0.18 points to trade at 38.13 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 0.42% or 0.25 points to end at 59.22 and KBC (BR:KBC) was down 0.37% or 0.260 points to 69.640.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 73 to 39 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.25% or 3.16 to $1280.86 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.29% or 0.16 to hit $55.17 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.36 to trade at $61.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1775, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8924.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.77.
