Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrial Engineering, Banking and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 2.55% or 2.10 points to trade at 84.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 2.38% or 2.140 points to end at 92.140 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 1.91% or 1.44 points to 76.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which fell 4.43% or 0.49 points to trade at 10.56 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 3.13% or 0.88 points to end at 27.21 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was down 1.35% or 0.25 points to 18.33.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 56 to 56 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in bpost NV (BR:BPOST) fell to all time lows; losing 4.43% or 0.49 to 10.56. Shares in Aperam SA (AS:APAM) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.13% or 0.88 to 27.21.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.12% or 1.40 to $1202.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 4.39% or 2.63 to hit $57.30 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 4.25% or 2.98 to trade at $67.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.1283, while EUR/GBP fell 0.80% to 0.8660.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 96.99.
