Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Construction & Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.67% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 5.91% or 0.42 points to trade at 7.60 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB (BR:UCB) added 1.91% or 1.50 points to end at 80.22 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was up 1.69% or 0.27 points to 16.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Befimmo-Sicafi (BR:BEFBb), which fell 0.44% or 0.270 points to trade at 60.420 at the close. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) declined 0.39% or 0.40 points to end at 101.10 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was down 0.38% or 0.12 points to 31.39.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 111 to 43 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in UCB (BR:UCB) rose to all time highs; rising 1.91% or 1.50 to 80.22.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.59% or 6.70 to $1134.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.75% or 0.35 to hit $46.24 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.16% or 0.57 to trade at $48.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1018, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.7144.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 96.95.
