Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 2.45% or 0.39 points to trade at 16.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 1.92% or 0.94 points to end at 49.88 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was up 1.26% or 1.02 points to 81.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which fell 1.17% or 0.29 points to trade at 24.60 at the close. Sofina (BR:SOF) declined 0.69% or 1.00 points to end at 143.80 and UCB (BR:UCB) was down 0.48% or 0.30 points to 62.02.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 56 to 47 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.02% or 0.20 to $1312.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.97% or 1.35 to hit $69.78 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.71% or 1.26 to trade at $74.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1944, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8823.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 92.50.
