Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 6.57% or 0.88 points to trade at 14.27 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) added 2.31% or 1.480 points to end at 65.440 and Sofina (BR:SOF) was up 1.35% or 2.20 points to 165.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which fell 1.56% or 0.40 points to trade at 25.30 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 0.90% or 0.19 points to end at 20.96 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was down 0.58% or 0.24 points to 40.99.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 71 to 43 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sofina (BR:SOF) rose to all time highs; rising 1.35% or 2.20 to 165.00.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.30 to $1220.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $66.89 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.05 to trade at $72.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1562, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8992.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 95.24.
