Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.61% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 3.00% or 0.33 points to trade at 11.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) added 2.88% or 2.09 points to end at 74.61 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) was up 2.52% or 0.85 points to 34.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elia (EBR:ELI), which fell 2.01% or 2.10 points to trade at 102.60 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.54% or 0.42 points to end at 26.92 and Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) was down 1.33% or 0.10 points to 7.06.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 62 to 30 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.60% or 15.55 to $2,614.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.16% or 1.51 to hit $71.39 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.91% or 1.41 to trade at $75.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 100.43.
