Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS), which rose 6.07% or 3.35 points to trade at 58.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) added 4.75% or 3.25 points to end at 71.72 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) was up 3.07% or 0.31 points to 10.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP), which fell 2.67% or 0.50 points to trade at 18.24 at the close. Elia (EBR:ELI) declined 1.83% or 1.40 points to end at 74.90 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) was down 1.53% or 0.85 points to 54.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 57 to 43 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.67% or 0.50 to 18.24.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.12% or 3.11 to $2,651.59 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.22% or 0.16 to hit $74.12 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.18 to trade at $76.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.79% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 108.09.
