Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 1.48% or 1.28 points to trade at 87.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 1.35% or 1.55 points to end at 116.15 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 1.29% or 0.960 points to 75.480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which fell 0.90% or 0.34 points to trade at 37.44 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) declined 0.87% or 0.39 points to end at 44.54 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was down 0.63% or 0.29 points to 45.89.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 80 to 37 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.15% or 2.00 to $1332.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.83% or 0.53 to hit $64.08 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.69% or 0.46 to trade at $67.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.2299, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 89.87.
