Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 14.22% or 0.75 points to trade at 6.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) added 5.44% or 6.65 points to end at 129.00 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 2.33% or 0.56 points to 24.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KBC (BR:KBC), which fell 1.82% or 0.890 points to trade at 47.880 at the close. Befimmo-Sicafi (BR:BEFB) declined 0.89% or 0.490 points to end at 54.870 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was down 0.76% or 0.80 points to 104.25.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 86 to 54 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.17% or 2.10 to $1228.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 4.10% or 1.49 to hit $37.83 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 3.07% or 1.19 to trade at $39.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1075, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.7860.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 96.95.
