Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 3.21% or 0.35 points to trade at 11.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) added 2.01% or 1.51 points to end at 76.54 and Ageas (EBR:AGES) was up 1.93% or 0.92 points to 48.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which fell 1.38% or 6.60 points to trade at 473.30 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 0.75% or 0.20 points to end at 26.60 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was down 0.74% or 0.20 points to 26.92.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 62 to 29 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ageas (EBR:AGES) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.93% or 0.92 to 48.70.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.07% or 1.80 to $2,633.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.46% or 0.34 to hit $73.23 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.67% or 0.52 to trade at $76.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 102.61.
