Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 6.57% or 0.66 points to trade at 10.63 at the close. Meanwhile, D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) added 3.04% or 6.00 points to end at 203.20 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 2.92% or 0.76 points to 26.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS), which fell 1.02% or 0.80 points to trade at 77.35 at the close. UCB SA (EBR:UCB) declined 0.12% or 0.20 points to end at 162.95 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) was down 0.08% or 0.05 points to 64.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 62 to 37 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.18% or 30.55 to $2,611.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.36% or 0.25 to hit $69.22 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.27 to trade at $72.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 101.04.
