Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.52% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 6.12% or 0.638 points to trade at 11.058 at the close. Meanwhile, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 6.03% or 1.62 points to end at 28.50 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 1.82% or 0.34 points to 19.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB (BR:UCB), which fell 1.90% or 1.50 points to trade at 77.44 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.62% or 1.440 points to end at 87.720 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was down 0.96% or 0.14 points to 13.96.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 60 to 44 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.19% or 2.55 to $1316.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.54% or 0.29 to hit $53.95 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.81% or 0.50 to trade at $62.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1380, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8786.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 96.010.
