Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.50% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Lotus Bakeries (EBR:LOTB), which rose 4.01% or 420.00 points to trade at 10,900.00 at the close. Meanwhile, D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) added 1.68% or 2.80 points to end at 169.30 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) was up 1.57% or 0.85 points to 55.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which fell 1.48% or 0.16 points to trade at 10.67 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 1.35% or 0.80 points to end at 58.45 and Elia (EBR:ELI) was down 1.34% or 1.10 points to 81.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 52 to 50 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Elia (EBR:ELI) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.34% or 1.10 to 81.00.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.79% or 49.29 to $2,707.41 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.36% or 0.25 to hit $70.04 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.29% or 0.21 to trade at $73.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.45% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 106.25.
