Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 5.96% or 4.60 points to trade at 81.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Umicore SA (BR:UMI) added 2.31% or 1.08 points to end at 47.84 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 1.06% or 0.116 points to 11.040 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which fell 3.97% or 1.98 points to trade at 47.90 at the close. Sofina (BR:SOF) declined 2.01% or 3.40 points to end at 165.60 and UCB (BR:UCB) was down 0.67% or 0.54 points to 80.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 60 to 45 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.64% or 7.70 to $1200.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.01% or 0.69 to hit $69.28 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.26 to trade at $78.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1646, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8904.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 94.85.
