Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.46% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 1.53% or 1.16 points to trade at 76.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (BR:ACKB) added 1.50% or 2.10 points to end at 141.80 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) was up 1.41% or 1.30 points to 93.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which fell 1.44% or 0.12 points to trade at 7.88 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 0.97% or 0.18 points to end at 18.41 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was down 0.47% or 0.11 points to 23.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 63 to 48 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.29% or 3.85 to $1321.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.82% or 0.98 to hit $54.77 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.17% or 1.32 to trade at $62.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1470, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8763.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 95.232.
