Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.44% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 1.98% or 1.32 points to trade at 68.14 at the close. Meanwhile, ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 1.88% or 0.280 points to end at 15.150 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 1.72% or 0.79 points to 46.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which fell 2.04% or 0.97 points to trade at 46.65 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 1.58% or 0.47 points to end at 29.59 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was down 1.00% or 0.29 points to 29.25.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 59 to 51 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Umicore NV (BR:UMI) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.98% or 1.32 to 68.14.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.41% or 5.46 to $1330.24 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.33% or 0.16 to hit $48.23 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.65% or 0.35 to trade at $54.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1959, while EUR/GBP fell 0.78% to 0.9010.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 91.93.
