Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 2.08% or 0.225 points to trade at 11.035 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 1.99% or 0.955 points to end at 48.970 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 1.21% or 0.630 points to 52.730 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which fell 6.57% or 7.50 points to trade at 106.60 at the close. Elia (BR:ELI) declined 1.72% or 0.795 points to end at 45.310 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was down 0.36% or 0.09 points to 23.21.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 99 to 44 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.55% or 7.25 to $1319.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.04% or 0.49 to hit $46.49 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.38% or 0.68 to trade at $48.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1151, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8522.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 95.98.
