Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which rose 1.72% or 3.25 points to trade at 192.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) added 1.71% or 0.95 points to end at 56.60 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.23% or 0.32 points to 26.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB), which fell 1.83% or 3.00 points to trade at 161.10 at the close. Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR:AZE) declined 1.62% or 0.31 points to end at 18.85 and Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) was down 0.54% or 0.38 points to 69.97.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 67 to 26 and 18 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.87% or 23.19 to $2,630.71 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.90% or 0.63 to hit $70.25 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.78% or 0.57 to trade at $73.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 107.88.
