Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which rose 3.42% or 2.40 points to trade at 72.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Elia (EBR:ELI) added 1.52% or 1.35 points to end at 90.00 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) was up 1.47% or 0.15 points to 10.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aedifica (EBR:AOO), which fell 2.76% or 1.60 points to trade at 56.45 at the close. Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) declined 1.86% or 0.61 points to end at 32.10 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) was down 1.67% or 0.95 points to 55.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 53 to 43 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.72% or 19.41 to $2,661.59 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.38% or 0.26 to hit $67.74 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.29 to trade at $71.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.90% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.64% at 106.51.
