Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which rose 3.36% or 2.40 points to trade at 73.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) added 2.71% or 1.23 points to end at 46.67 and Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR:AZE) was up 2.67% or 0.51 points to 19.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which fell 4.60% or 8.80 points to trade at 182.50 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 0.50% or 3.20 points to end at 637.80 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) was down 0.25% or 0.18 points to 73.16.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 50 to 42 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.23% or 6.21 to $2,757.11 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.15% or 0.12 to hit $77.73 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.07 to trade at $81.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 109.11.
