Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.35% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 1.57% or 0.88 points to trade at 56.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Umicore NV (BR:UMI) added 1.50% or 1.05 points to end at 71.04 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.46% or 1.260 points to 87.450 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which fell 1.20% or 0.48 points to trade at 40.10 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 0.70% or 0.17 points to end at 24.98 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was down 0.23% or 0.07 points to 28.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 77 to 41 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Umicore NV (BR:UMI) rose to all time highs; rising 1.50% or 1.05 to 71.04. Shares in Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) rose to all time highs; up 1.46% or 1.260 to 87.450.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.49% or 6.31 to $1278.49 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.28% or 1.18 to hit $50.49 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.22% or 0.69 to trade at $56.10 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1742, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.55% at 93.42.
