Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which rose 1.57% or 1.60 points to trade at 103.50 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) added 1.18% or 0.650 points to end at 55.780 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 0.61% or 0.28 points to 47.31 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which fell 3.91% or 0.480 points to trade at 11.805 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 2.54% or 0.69 points to end at 26.46 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was down 2.19% or 2.22 points to 99.33.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 83 to 68 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.54% or 0.69 to 26.46.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.24% or 3.05 to $1276.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.51% or 0.23 to hit $45.12 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.20% or 0.09 to trade at $46.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1025, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.8912.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 97.91.
