Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Sofina (EBR:SOF), which rose 1.68% or 3.60 points to trade at 218.40 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 1.13% or 1.80 points to end at 161.55 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) was up 0.84% or 0.26 points to 31.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 1.40% or 0.32 points to trade at 22.46 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 0.62% or 0.16 points to end at 25.50 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) was down 0.51% or 2.40 points to 471.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 51 to 34 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in UCB SA (EBR:UCB) rose to all time highs; up 1.13% or 1.80 to 161.55.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.12% or 28.45 to $2,519.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.84% or 1.32 to hit $73.25 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.83% or 1.39 to trade at $77.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 101.36.
