Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 3.28% or 1.24 points to trade at 39.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 2.50% or 0.47 points to end at 19.25 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 2.04% or 0.28 points to 13.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which fell 0.45% or 0.22 points to trade at 48.66 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 0.12% or 0.01 points to end at 12.43 and UCB (BR:UCB) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 78.14.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 56 to 52 and 25 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.13% or 1.60 to $1204.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.03% or 0.71 to hit $69.39 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.99% or 0.77 to trade at $78.82 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1683, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8878.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 94.10.
