Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Lotus Bakeries (EBR:LOTB), which rose 2.51% or 260.00 points to trade at 10,620.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) added 2.16% or 1.30 points to end at 61.40 and Sofina (EBR:SOF) was up 1.60% or 3.60 points to 228.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP), which fell 1.58% or 0.31 points to trade at 19.26 at the close. Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) declined 1.41% or 0.75 points to end at 52.30 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was down 1.38% or 0.32 points to 22.86.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 55 to 41 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.89% or 24.41 to $2,724.29 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.92% or 0.71 to hit $76.68 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.74% or 0.60 to trade at $80.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.06% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.98% at 108.13.
