Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Financials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.27% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 3.23% or 2.60 points to trade at 83.10 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 2.32% or 0.30 points to end at 13.25 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was up 1.31% or 0.17 points to 13.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which fell 1.74% or 0.36 points to trade at 20.31 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 1.35% or 0.54 points to end at 39.38 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was down 0.82% or 0.90 points to 108.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 53 to 53 and 22 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.58% or 7.20 to $1223.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.63% or 0.43 to hit $67.83 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.26% or 0.19 to trade at $72.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1693, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8927.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 94.42.
