Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR:AZE), which rose 1.81% or 0.34 points to trade at 19.09 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 1.77% or 10.60 points to end at 610.00 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) was up 1.56% or 0.90 points to 58.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elia (EBR:ELI), which fell 2.03% or 1.55 points to trade at 74.75 at the close. D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) declined 1.46% or 2.40 points to end at 161.60 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) was down 1.29% or 0.64 points to 48.93.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 51 to 46 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Elia (EBR:ELI) fell to 3-years lows; down 2.03% or 1.55 to 74.75. Shares in Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) rose to all time highs; rising 1.77% or 10.60 to 610.00. Shares in Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.29% or 0.64 to 48.93.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.38% or 10.06 to $2,651.94 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.61% or 0.43 to hit $70.51 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.77 to trade at $73.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 106.86.
