Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Telecoms and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 3.13% or 0.34 points to trade at 11.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 2.74% or 0.68 points to end at 25.54 and Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) was up 2.16% or 0.14 points to 6.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aedifica (EBR:AOO), which fell 0.89% or 0.55 points to trade at 61.10 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 0.69% or 3.30 points to end at 474.30 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) was down 0.19% or 0.15 points to 79.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 60 to 30 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 4.90 to $2,542.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.81% or 1.37 to hit $74.17 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.82% or 1.45 to trade at $78.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 101.81.
