Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 2.52% or 0.49 points to trade at 19.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Ageas (BR:AGES) added 1.88% or 0.850 points to end at 46.110 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was up 1.73% or 0.21 points to 12.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which fell 2.34% or 1.60 points to trade at 66.90 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 2.00% or 0.42 points to end at 20.60 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was down 1.56% or 1.70 points to 107.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 57 to 50 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ageas (BR:AGES) rose to 5-year highs; rising 1.88% or 0.850 to 46.110.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.74% or 9.00 to $1202.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.73% or 0.51 to hit $70.83 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $78.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1744, while EUR/GBP rose 1.22% to 0.8983.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 93.84.
