Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 2.40% or 1.86 points to trade at 79.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Sofina (BR:SOF) added 1.63% or 2.80 points to end at 174.60 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) was up 1.38% or 0.90 points to 66.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which fell 2.78% or 0.51 points to trade at 17.84 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.19% or 1.160 points to end at 96.260 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was down 0.63% or 0.30 points to 47.12.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 69 to 49 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.78% or 0.51 to 17.84. Shares in Sofina (BR:SOF) rose to all time highs; up 1.63% or 2.80 to 174.60.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.31% or 3.70 to $1192.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.01% or 1.47 to hit $74.72 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.87% or 1.55 to trade at $84.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1570, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8876.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 94.97.
